Betterlore (https://betterlore.com) is an iGaming brand that launches new online games. Over the past few years, we have developed the first of these games along with the necessary infrastructure. We rely on powerful database systems with optimized SQL queries to ensure a seamless gaming experience and efficient data collection. The company has German roots, with locations in Malta and Serbia. Our gaming platform operates both in Germany and in the cloud.

To further develop our brand Betterlore and its products, we are looking for a Java Game Backend Developer (m/f/d) to strengthen our development team.

Your responsibilities:

  • Your primary focus will be on developing the backend of our B2B online gaming platform.
  • You will implement new features, fix bugs according to requirements, and take ownership of certain services and their further development.
  • Together with the Lead Developer and Software Architect, you will decide on the technologies and algorithms for the features being developed.
  • You will design and develop APIs for communication between services and for external interfaces.
  • You will be actively involved in product and platform development, working closely with the Lead Developer and Product Owner.

Your qualifications:

  • Several years of experience in software development with Java
  • Strong knowledge of database systems (architecture, performance, and SQL queries)
  • Experience with Git and Maven
  • Programming skills in PHP and TypeScript are desirable
  • Knowledge of Java Spring Boot, Laravel, and Angular is a plus
  • Very good English skills, both written and spoken
  • Fluent German skills are a plus
